Chain of Responsibility Industry Survey and Workshops

Sunday, September 18, 2016

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator needs your help. We are currently working with all parties in the logistics supply chain to advance the understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL). We are launching two important industry focussed initiatives to help identify and determine national best practice within the freight and logistics sector. We are seeking your support in promoting and raising awareness of these opportunities to participate among your own business, and also with your transport and supply chain partners. Chain of Responsibility Industry Survey On 12 September 2016, we launched an online industry survey broadly targeted at the logistics supply chain. The survey will run for four weeks until 10 October 2016 and will help the NHVR build a national picture of industry’s understanding and attitudes to CoR. We seek your help by responding yourself, and especially by forwarding this link to all your transport and supply chain partners. The survey link is below: www.nhvr.gov.au/safety-accreditation-compliance/chain-of-responsibility/chain-of-responsibility-survey All survey responses are anonymous and will inform the development of information and education packages tailored to each role in the supply chain. We are keen for industry to have their say and ensure their needs are recognised and considered in the development of CoR information and tools. We would be grateful if you could promote the survey to your members through your communication channels. Chain of Responsibility Industry Workshops In late November we will also be conducting industry workshops to test and further develop a body of knowledge for industry best practice. Forums will be held in key metropolitan and regional locations across the country. We are seeking expressions of interest, which may be provided at the end of the survey. The forums will be four hour sessions and will focus on proposals for an industry education program and tools to help industry meet their CoR obligations under the national law. For more information about either of these initiatives and our CoR program, please contact: Michael Crellin (Manager, Chain of Responsibility) on (07) 3309 8577 or michael.crellin@nhvr.gov.au Kym Farquharson-Jones (Senior Advisor, Chain of Responsibility) on (07) 3309 8606 or kym.farquharson-Jones@nhvr.gov.au We thank you for your invaluable contribution to the NHVR’s work to better enable and inform industry.
